Ready for a relaxing, overnight stay on the Rim?

The Lodge at Fossil Rim

The Lodge was built in the early 1980s as the home for original Fossil Rim owner Tom Mantzel. Through the years, it has been updated to provide bed-and-breakfast-style accommodations. Several common areas are available for guest use, including the newly renovated Lounge, Great Room, Balcony, and shared Kitchen.

Foothills Safari Cabins

Our Foothills Safari Camp is located a half-mile further inside Fossil Rim down a gravel road from The Lodge. The two-acre camp is secured by fencing and overlooks one of Fossil Rim’s most popular wildlife watering holes where an ever-changing array of animals – both exotic and native – can be observed.

Fossil Rim has some of the most beautiful views along the northern edge of the Texas Hill Country. Tucked away on 1,800 acres, the wildlife center features rooms at The Lodge, as well as Foothills Safari Camp cabins that accommodate a range of comfort levels.

Our guests will enjoy the peace and tranquility of Mother Nature as they are surrounded by our diverse herds of endangered exotic animals along with local wildlife. Come experience the unique hospitality our staff delivers while supporting the conservation of these beautiful creatures.

Our overnight guests are treated to an exclusive breakfast, made from scratch by our culinary team, located in the glass-walled pavilion at Safari Camp. During your stay there will be 24-hour staff presence at The Lodge to answer any questions or assist with needs that may arise. The lodging tax for The Lodge and Foothills Safari Camp is 13 percent. Holiday rates apply to the night before a holiday.
