Self-Drive Tickets

We recommend you purchase your self-drive tickets online prior to you're visit. We do not guarantee ticket availability on site. Members may present their membership upon arrival for admission.

Load into your car and take the whole family on a self-drive along our 7.2 miles of Texas hill country. See endangered antelope and get the chance to feed giraffes all from the comfort of your own vehicle. Stop for a break at the Overlook to visit our nature store, café and more. This drive is a minimum of 1.5 hours.

  • Effective June 6th, 2024, guests are no longer permitted to ride in the bed of pickup trucks.
  • The price is $29.95 for guests age 12 and older and $24.95 for children ages 3 to 11. Children 2 and under are free.
  • Upon arrival each vehicle will receive one free cone of animal feed.
  • No refunds. With advance notice, (prior to 8:00 AM the day of your scheduled visit) self-drives can be rescheduled once without penalty. You will be charged a reschedule fee for any subsequent date changes.
  • NO PETS ALLOWED.
  • All vehicles, including Jeeps, must have doors. No soft or tube doors. Convertibles and topless vehicles are allowed. 
  • Tickets do not guarantee that you will get to see and/or feed every animal at Fossil Rim. This includes giraffes.
