Self-Drive Tickets

We recommend you purchase your self-drive tickets online prior to you're visit. We do not guarantee ticket availability on site. Members may present their membership upon arrival for admission.

Load into your car and take the whole family on a self-drive along our 7.2 miles of Texas hill country. See endangered antelope and get the chance to feed giraffes all from the comfort of your own vehicle. Stop for a break at The Overlook to visit our nature store, café and more. This drive is a minimum of 1.5 hours.

Please note: When temperatures drop below 50°, giraffes and rhinos will remain in their barns. Visibility may be limited, but all other animals are still viewable.
  • Not allowed to ride in the bed of pickup trucks.
  • Admission rates vary based on age, visit date, and peak season. Select a date and arrival time on our ticket page to see current pricing. Children 2 and under are free!
  • Upon arrival each vehicle will receive a 16 oz bag of animal feed.
  • Tickets are nonrefundable but may be rescheduled once with advance notice. Contact us before 8 a.m. on your scheduled day with your reservation name, order number, and new date/time: info@fossilrim.org or 254-897-2960
  • No pets are allowed on property.
  • In accordance with the USDA Animal Welfare Act, all vehicles must have a solid roof and fully enclosed doors. Jeeps and convertibles are allowed ONLY if they have both a hard top and hard doors, which must remain closed at all times. Additionally, any vehicle with a sunroof must keep it closed. These policies ensure the safety of our animals and guests.

    Guests may not ride in the bed of pickup trucks, and trailers are not permitted in the park. For information on leaving a trailer in our parking lot, please email info@fossilrim.org.
  • Tickets do not guarantee that you will get to see and/or feed every animal at Fossil Rim. This includes giraffes.
