Yes! You may submit as many names as you wish. Each submission requires a separate $15 donation.

No. All names are evaluated purely on merit regardless of donation amount. A $15 submission has the same chance as a $500 donation.

Duplicate names will be consolidated, and the first submission received will be retained.

Yes, names honoring family members or loved ones are welcome and encouraged. Please include the story behind the name in your submission.

Yes. Fossil Rim is a 501(c)3 organization. After completing the submission form, you will receive a confirmation email that serves as your official receipt for tax purposes.

Tours must be scheduled within 6 months of the winner announcement. We'll work directly with the winner to find a convenient date and time.

Absolutely! The calf is out in the Game Preserve with the rest of the giraffe tower and can be seen during a regular Safari Tour or with Self-Drive admission. No special access is needed to catch a glimpse.

All funds support Fossil Rim's conservation mission, including animal care, veterinary services, habitat maintenance, breeding programs, and educational initiatives.

Yes, the winning name will be the giraffe's official name at Fossil Rim for his lifetime here. If he is transferred to another facility, we will advocate for the name to continue, though the receiving facility has final naming authority.

Our giraffe care team will score each name on four criteria (meaning/story, personality fit, pronounceability, uniqueness) with 1-5 points each. The highest-scoring names become the top 5.

Once the top five names are announced on April 9, voting will be open to the public at no cost. A poll will be available at fossilrim.org/nameourgiraffe, and participants may cast one vote per email address. Voting will close on April 16 at 11:59 PM CT.

The prize package is non-transferable and has no cash value. If you cannot accept it, the runner-up will be selected as the winner.
