The Future of Wildlife Care

North Texas Giving Day is right around the corner, and once again we’re turning to you – our partners in wildlife conservation – for support. This year we are continuing to raise funds for our brand new Animal Health and Conservation Center, to replace our decades-old veterinary clinic.

Doing so will allow us to continue to provide world-class care to our species, and to grow in our capacity to conduct research and train tomorrow’s conservation professionals. We are already well into the beginning stages of construction, but require additional funds to meet rising construction costs. Join us in creating a new space that not only reflects commitment to caring for endangered species, but will further it for years to come.

40 Years of Veterinary Excellence

Since our founding in 1984, Fossil Rim has delivered compassionate and expert veterinary care to our animal residents. From routine vaccinations to lifesaving emergency treatment, our clinic has served as the heart of animal health for over 40 years.

Over that time, we have had the opportunity to welcome veterinary experts from across the country who have helped us with complex procedures and breeding initiatives. While our clinic has been a hub for these collaborations over the years, we are limited in our ability to grow. The current building is only 1,175 square-feet – and often filled with several staff members and animals ranging from a few pounds to several hundred. To continue advancing veterinary medicine and wildlife care, we must expand into a space that can keep pace with today’s challenges and tomorrow’s opportunities.

An Innovative Future

Our new Animal Health and Conservation Center will be nearly five times larger than our current clinic, designed with growth, collaboration, and education in mind. Alongside state-of-the-art treatment rooms, a dedicated surgery suite, and a modern lab, the facility will also include educational and conference spaces—transforming it into a hub for both care and learning.

Until now, our small clinic has had to serve every role at once. With this new facility, we’ll finally be able to separate and elevate each function, taking our veterinary care to new heights.

In a single year, our veterinary team performs over 400 vaccinations, writes nearly 3,000 prescriptions and trains 15-20 veterinary students. We hope to expand on the work the team is able to do, and welcome not only trainees, but guests like you, into the world of wildlife medicine.

Your Impact

This North Texas Giving Day, you can make a direct impact that will last for decades to come. Each dollar given will go towards building and equipping the new hospital with the tools and technology necessary to protect our wildlife and educate the next generation of conservationists.

Together, we can build a better, healthier future for wildlife and safeguard endangered species for generations to come.
