EDUCATION

We know that education means a lot to you; it means a lot to us, too! As an integral part in the Fossil Rim mission statement, education is a primary means of protecting and preserving the biodiversity of our planet. Our education department offers an engaging, impactful curriculum that inspires curiosity and wonder, which we hope leads you into a more involved enjoyment of the outdoors.

WORKSHOPS

We offer two different formats of Photo Workshops, which blend hands-on instruction with guided wildlife tours and meals. One of the workshops also incorporates lodging. We also offer three levels of educator workshops that focus on various aspects of the WILD conservation and environmental education program.

CAMPS

Wolf Ridge Nature Camp offers a variety of camps including mini, day, overnight and Badge Camps. Spend a few hours, an entire day, or even the night with us and take home lasting memories, as well as a deeper knowledge of nature, endangered species and Fossil Rim’s mission to save them. One adult attends free with every 12 students. Programs offered are shown below. Optional sack lunches are $6.50 per person. Reservations are required.

WOLF RIDGE RENTALS

Our Wolf Ridge Nature Camp bunkhouses come with bunkbeds and not much else. But you’re staying here for the experience and not the amenities, right? All bunkhouses have heat and air conditioning. It’s like camping without having to sleep on the ground.

OUTREACH

If you cannot come to Fossil Rim Wildlife Center, then we will come to you. Our outreach program, Rim on the Road, has several programs available and can teach everyone how to become good stewards of the earth.

HOMESCHOOL AND FAMILY PROGRAMS

Our children are homeschooled, too! Fossil Rim Wildlife Center is making a conscientious effort to design and implement programs specifically for the homeschooling community. Two of our main goals are to offer programs that are as affordable and age-diverse as possible so the whole family can be involved.
