When a fundraiser delivers fun, it’s a win-win situation.
For the first time, Fossil Rim Wildlife Center will participate in the Painting with a Purpose benefit. Set for Thursday, Oct. 15 from 7-9 p.m. in Granbury (715 Autumn Ridge Dr., Suite 101), at Painting with a Twist studio, the fundraiser is for participants age 18 and older.
Hailey Shields, Fossil Rim accounting manager, is coordinating the event.
“Pam (Adams, Fossil Rim chief financial officer,) and I talked about getting Fossil Rim involved in this fundraiser, so this will be our first year,” Shields said. “I have done an event similar to this, and we’re hoping to have a fun night. You can laugh, paint, have a drink – it’s all about helping our animals in the end.”
The instructor will be local artist Reagan Deming of Painting with a Twist. A Granbury native, she is a University of Texas at Arlington grad and the owner of an environmental research company. Deming will instruct participants step-by-step through a Painting with a Twist copyrighted piece of artwork called “Deep in the Heart of Texas.”
The cost is $35 per person and reservations are required. Participants may bring their own food and drink, but are encouraged to arrive by 6:45 p.m.
“I just look forward to getting together with other people who want to support a good organization like Fossil Rim and have some fun in the process,” Shields said.
